What ShadowCast does
ShadowCast brings two-dimensional global illumination to DaVinci Resolve, so light appears to spread and be blocked by shapes in the image as it would in a lit scene. It was built specifically for Resolve by Nx Color.
The calculation happens in real time, which lets you adjust the look while watching playback. It runs on macOS, Windows and Linux and supports DaVinci Resolve 20 and 19. A demo video can be found on the developer's page. Motion designers and VFX artists can use it to add depth, glow and cast shadows to flat graphics and footage.
