Shape Generator
Developer: Mark Kingsnorth
Blender add-on that builds unique random shapes from extrusions with adjustable length, scale and rotation.
What Shape Generator does
Shape Generator, written by Mark Kingsnorth, produces assorted 3D forms in Blender out of randomized extrusions. The results can inspire designs or serve as base meshes.
Setting a random number and varying length, scale and rotation yields new shapes. Faces can be kept from overlapping, and a mirror modifier can reflect shapes along any of the three axes, and optional subdivision and bevel modifiers are added while staying editable. Concept artists exploring forms for vehicles, props or sculptures find fast starting points.
Key features
- Randomized extrusion shapes
- Prevent overlapping faces
