What Shape Key Smoother does

Shape Key Smoother helps make clean shape keys quickly in Blender. Block in a shape key, then smooth it by choosing the area around it.

Unlike Edit Mode's Smooth operator or Sculpt mode Smooth brush, it retains the volume and form of the original Basis. Facial and corrective shape key authors can polish deformations with fewer artifacts. This helps remove lumps from sculpted corrective shapes without shrinking the form, which ordinary smoothing often does.
