What STL format (legacy) does

STL format (legacy) lets Blender open and save STL meshes, the usual exchange format for 3D printing. It was bundled with Blender 4.1 and is now offered as it stands with limited support.

The add-on is small, about 7 KB, works with Blender 4.2 LTS and newer, is released under GPL v2 or later and requests filesystem access for reading and writing files. Makers and engineers moving printable meshes between Blender and slicer or CAD programs can use it.
