TextDuratifier
Developer: Artem Artemenko
Sets text layer durations in After Effects from content length and an assumed reading speed.
What TextDuratifier does
TextDuratifier is a script that removes guesswork from timing subtitles and on-screen text in After Effects. It looks at what each text layer says and calculates how long a viewer needs to read it, then sets the duration accordingly.
Layers are lined up one after another on the timeline, and an adaptive background with an adjustable corner radius can be generated behind the text. Settings are remembered after restarting the app. It is handy for editors and motion designers producing text-driven videos, even when the language is unfamiliar.
Key features
- Duration calculated from text content
- Based on viewer reading speed
- Arranges layers one by one on the timeline
- Adaptive text background with corner radius
- Settings kept between sessions
