Tile Generator
Developer: DaveWorksOnBlender
Blender add-on that finds a grid of heightmap tiles and builds displaced geometry, PBR materials and printable STL files.
What Tile Generator does
Tile Generator starts from the heightmap tile at the 0,0 origin and uses its filename numbering to locate every other tile in the grid. It understands Gaea naming as well as generic and row-and-column schemes, then builds displaced geometry and a full PBR material for the terrain.
Material sliders for base colour, roughness, metallic, normal strength and emission update every tile together. A triangle estimate appears before generation, and each tile can be exported as a solid, watertight STL with the displacement baked in. Optional slots accept albedo, AO, roughness, metallic, normal and emission maps. Terrain artists and tabletop printing hobbyists are the target users.
Key features
- Reads tile naming from the 0,0 origin tile
- Live material sliders applied across all tiles
- Triangle count estimate before generating
- One watertight STL per tile with baked displacement
- Optional albedo, AO, roughness, metallic, normal and emission maps
