Tracery
Developer: Dragoy
Colour-based tracking plugin that generates connected overlays, diagrams and data-style graphics from video.
What Tracery does
Tracery tracks coloured objects in a clip and builds graphics from the results, all within After Effects. Overlays respond to moving targets, making it suited to techy HUD visuals, data-driven diagrams and generative motion pieces.
Up to 512 objects can be followed at once, with more possible by adding another layer. Points can be linked using four connection algorithms: Sequential for chains or loops, Star from the first point, Full for a complete mesh, and MST for a minimum spanning tree. A multi-threaded mode with quality settings balances precision against speed, and no external application is required.
