Cardcutter: Nanite-Ready Foliage Generator
Developer: Philipp Russo
Blender add-on that turns leaf sheets and alpha textures into outline-hugging, dense meshes suited to Nanite foliage.
What Cardcutter: Nanite-Ready Foliage Generator does
CardCutter converts foliage textures into optimized 3D meshes inside Blender. Because the geometry follows the exact outline of the leaf or frond, transparent pixels are cut away and overdraw drops, which matters for dense game scenes.
It accepts black and white masks or albedo textures with an alpha channel, and it can split an atlas into separate objects for each loose part. Triangulation is relaxed to avoid slivers and n-gons, and three presets, Fast, Balanced and High Quality, suit background assets through to Nanite-density meshes. The dense topology also helps wind displacement look smooth. Leaves, ivy, debris and decals are typical inputs.
Key features
- Mesh hugs the alpha outline to avoid overdraw
- Works from masks or albedo with alpha
