Custom Align
Developer: SimonBourgeois
3ds Max script that aligns and spaces objects, randomizes position and scale, and distributes items along a spline.
What Custom Align does
Custom Align lines up objects in 3ds Max with a given spacing, measured from object center or base. Pairing two Min, Center or Max choices gives nine placement alignments, and turning spacing off lines objects up while leaving their mutual distances alone.
Randomization can hit position and scale, with a proportion lock and the choice of scaling one axis or all of them. Objects of different sizes can be spaced evenly along a spline while keeping their initial order, and a bake function creates dummies on the path and parents the objects to path-constrained dummies. An anchor option uses the first or last selected object as reference. It suits tasks such as arranging books on shelves.
Key features
