Fire Ray

Developer: Blenderbob

Download Free

Blender add-on that inserts an Empty at a set place on a tracked camera and offers automatic setup for Reality Capture cameras.

What Fire Ray does

Fire Ray by Blenderbob helps position empties relative to tracked cameras in Blender.

The Fire button draws a line from the camera out to infinity through the placed empty, and the tool appears in the viewport's tool tab. An automatic camera setup is provided for cameras from Reality Capture. Photogrammetry and VFX artists can locate points from camera views. Casting a ray from a tracked camera through a placed point gives a quick way to find where features lie in space, which helps with scene reconstruction.
