MeltFlow Blur
Developer: grape design
GPU-accelerated melting-style blur for After Effects with turbulence maps and wind direction.
What MeltFlow Blur does
MeltFlow Blur comes from grape design and runs on the GPU inside After Effects. It smears an image outward from a chosen point, producing a melting, liquid look rather than a plain blur.
The affected area is centered on a point and can be adjusted through aspect ratio and rotation. Five turbulence maps break up the smear, turbulence itself can be animated, and grain noise adds texture. A wind setting steers the blur direction. Motion artists can use it for transitions, title treatments or stylized backgrounds that need a fluid distortion.
