Raytracing Relight
Developer: Trioscope Inc
Real-time 2.5D raytraced relighting for After Effects using depth and normal maps and PBR shading.
What Raytracing Relight does
Raytracing Relight from Trioscope adds, changes or replaces lighting on video and stills in After Effects without re-rendering or reshooting. Its physically-based shading follows a metallic/roughness workflow and is driven by depth and normal maps.
Up to three lights per instance can be directional, omnidirectional or spotlight, with position, intensity, radius and tint, plus ambient light. Thickness estimation allows light to pass through and around objects, giving shadows that match structure; soft and hard shadows, translucency, ambient occlusion and optional denoising are included. Five depth map types are accepted and outputs include final, white albedo and shadows only. Handy for rim light, time-of-day shifts and plate matching.
