Dot Pixels
Developer: Rowbyte
Turns images into grids of circles or rings with optional sphere and torus shading in After Effects and Premiere Pro.
What Dot Pixels does
Dot Pixels is a native Rowbyte plugin that swaps blocky pixelation for round dots and hollow rings. It runs in both After Effects and Premiere Pro, giving footage a screen-like or beaded appearance.
Outer Roundness changes the shape of each cell, with larger values shrinking the circles, while Inner Radius makes rings thinner as it rises. A shading option can imitate spheres or tori, with a selectable type and amount, and it is off until turned on. The background stays transparent unless you tick Fill Background and pick a colour. 32-bit floating point is available in After Effects only. Good for display, LED and stylised art looks.
