fr Material2
Developer: Jon Seagull
MaxScript replacement for the finalRender material interface that gives compact rollouts and grouped lighting and raytracing controls.
What fr Material2 does
Jon Seagull's fr Material2 swaps the stock finalRender material interface in 3ds Max for a tighter, better organized layout. Rollouts take less space so there is less scrolling, and frequently used parameters such as fresnel IOR are placed within easy reach.
GI, caustics and SSS controls are collected in a single lighting rollout, and reflection and refraction controls in a raytracing rollout. Revised defaults and labels apply to items like supersampling and glossy reflection sampling, and controls dim when the features they govern are turned off. It suits finalRender users who find the stock layout cumbersome.
Key features
- Compact rollouts that reduce scrolling
- Frequently used parameters easy to reach
- GI, caustics and SSS in one lighting rollout
- Reflection and refraction in one raytracing rollout
- Revised defaults and labels, with controls grayed when unused
