What Modulation 2 does
Modulation 2 is an After Effects effect that bends video through a simulated modulation and demodulation process, producing wavy, interference-style distortion. No scripting or expressions are needed; everything is driven by ordinary effect controls.
The look is shaped with omega, phase and distortion parameters, and waves can travel forward or backward in either a horizontal or vertical orientation. Colour processing runs in one of five modes (greyscale, RGB, CMY, CMYK or HSV) with channels you can switch on and off, and lowpass filters smooth the result. Glitch and signal-art creators who want a more physical take on corruption than a simple displacement will find plenty to experiment with.
