Pixel Melt
Developer: Satori
Simulates pixels stretching, dripping and separating into scanlines in After Effects and Premiere Pro.
What Pixel Melt does
Pixel Melt, from Satori, makes images appear to melt by stretching and displacing pixels independently. The result ranges from dripping edges to separated scanlines, useful for glitchy transitions and stylized distortions in After Effects and Premiere Pro.
A direction control picks the edge that melting heads toward, and Spread limits how far pixels stretch at each step. Shading can be plain, sine, triangle or ramp shaped, with an animatable phase, and scanline modulation has amplitude, period, phase and exponent controls. Velocity curves have a graph, Wrap mode makes pixels reappear from the opposite side, and fade controls dim the ends of scanlines.
