What Power Cylinder does
Power Cylinder, by CROSSPHERE .Koizumi, creates cylinder shapes inside After Effects with no external 3D software. They can be moved and deformed in 3D space and given elliptic distortion for more varied silhouettes.
The cylinder can be unfolded into a flat plane, with the unfolding inverted if wanted, and extended repeatedly. Rich shading, self-shadowing, reflections and depth of field add realism, and composition lights and cameras are honoured. Version 1.10 added a hyperboloid mode. Motion graphics artists building tubes, pillars, rolls and unfolding effects have plenty to work with.
