What Relax Pro does
Relax Pro, a 3ds Max modifier, evens out meshes while avoiding the shrinking that comes with the standard Relax. By sliding vertices over the surface, it preserves volume while evening out the mesh.
Smoothing is resolution independent, so large and small polygons are treated equally. Borders neither grow nor shrink thanks to smart border smoothing, and the effect can be steered with a selection, a soft selection or vertex colors, with smoothing groups adding further control. It is useful for retopology cleanup, scans, sculpted meshes and organic modeling where preserving the form matters.
