Plumebus
Developer: Eric @ VFX Tools
Real-time GPU smoke and fire simulation in the After Effects timeline with no pre-render.
What Plumebus does
Plumebus is Eric at VFX Tools's plugin for After Effects that runs 3D smoke and fire simulations live in the timeline. A GPU simulation engine pairs with a raymarch renderer, so you can scrub freely and adjust settings without waiting for a pre-render.
Emitters can come from spheres, boxes, meshes, text or layers, and multiple emitters work together with forces, 3D colliders, After Effects lights and the AE camera. More than 40 presets cover gun smoke, explosions, fog, smoke transitions and logo reveals. Fire, combustion, particle emission and VDB playback are included, plus a path-traced renderer with tonemapping and live two-way sync back to the comp.
