Map Ramp
Developer: Vitaly Babich
Maps a multi-colour gradient onto an After Effects layer using one of five channels as the source.
What Map Ramp does
Map Ramp by Vitaly Babich takes a greyscale source and replaces its tones with a gradient. The source channel can be red, green, blue, alpha or lightness, which makes it handy for recolouring and for building mattes.
Gradient knots have their own position, colour, alpha and blending, and interpolation can be Linear, Variable, Bezier or B-spline. Hardness and Nonlinearity set how sharp transitions are, Blend With Original mixes in the source colours, Blend Alpha Also restores changed alpha, and Flip mirrors knot positions. Colourists and motion designers get fine control over stylised colour work.
